We are so fortunate to live in an area surrounded by natural beauty, amazing restaurants, and a plethora of attractions all within a short drive. This month we’re rounding up our favorite spring events happening throughout Delaware and the Philadelphia Suburbs. Be sure to mark your calendars!
New Castle County: Point to Point – May 8th
The 44th Annual Point-to-Point is a festive day that truly has it all—steeplechase racing, pageantry, and fun for the entire family. The sights and sounds will thrill spectators while the Winterthur Hunt area will entertain with games and activities for all ages.
New Castle County: Wilmington Flower Market – May 5th
One of our favorite Spring events in New Castle County is the Wilmington Flower Market + Music Festival at Rockford Park! This event is a great way to spend your weekend if you love concerts, food trucks, gardening, and shopping!
Chester County: Longwood Spring Flowers Open Air Theatre Fountain Shows – Now through September
Arguably one of the most beautiful locations in all of Chester County, Longwood Gardens is nothing short of spectacular in the spring. We recommend checking out their Open Air Theatre Fountain Shows that are running now through September.
Philadelphia County: The Mann Center BalletX Spring Series – May 18th & 19th
For our Philadelphia friends, we recommend checking out BalletX performing at the Mann! BalletX’s dancers were named “among America’s best” by The New York Times and commissions choreographers from around the world to create dance that is “fresh, inclusive, and connects to what people want” So what are you waiting for? Kent County: Hot Dog Pairing at Harvest Ridge Winery – April 24th
Celebrate National Pigs-in-a-blanket day by enjoying a hot dog and wine/cider pairings at Harvest Ridge Winery in Marydel! Harvest Ridge will be pairing up 4 different Hot Dogs created by their own Field of Dreams food truck with 4 Harvest Ridge wines or Rebel Seed ciders! YUM!
Kent County: Terrarium Workshop at Loblolly Acres – May 12th
Mark your calendars for May 12th, because you won’t want to miss this! Loblolly Acres is hosting a terrarium workshop where you can create a beautiful live succulent arrangement with the fun and color of sand art! Enjoy this event with friends and family all while sipping drinks and eating hor d’oeurves on the patio.
Sussex County: 27th Annual Lewes British Motorcar Show – May 7th
This Sussex County event showcases a wide array of classic British vehicles at the Lewes Ferry Terminal and is a great way to kick off the start of the season! These cars are nothing short of spectacular!
Sussex County: Bethany Bonfires on the Beach – Starting April 22nd
Starting in April and running on select Fridays in April, May, and October, Bethany’s Bonfire on the Beach is a great, family-friendly event to enjoy in the off-season! With marshmallows and roasting sticks provided, all you need to pack is some graham crackers and your favorite chocolates, and hit the road!
